Canada Quilts

The call is out for Canadian quilters and want-to-be quilters around the country. Canada is 150 years old this year and to celebrate, Canada Quilts invites us to make squares or even a quilt top. Their goal is 1000 quilt tops, all to be quilted at Quilt Canada from June 14-17. All of the quilts will then be donated to Ronald McDonald Houses across country. What an ambitious project! Check out the guidelines here.

Sometimes we want to do a big thing but it is too big for one person. Still when we get together and all of us do one small thing, we get big things done. That is how you build a country, a business, a family, a home, not one struggling alone against the world, but everyone moving forward together, each doing their little bit toward success.

Think of Jesus, who started with 12 disciples and then took on the world…for our sakes.

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus. (Matthew 10:1-3, NIV)

Prayer – God, point out to us where we can make a difference and give us the gumption to do so. Amen
