Cure-All

James 5:16b– the effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much (KJV).                                                                                              

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (NIV).

The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and brings wonderful results (LB).

The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with (MSG).

No matter how you say it, the truth is the truth. God does answer prayer. No matter our need, He is waiting to hear from us. But the first move is ours. Will we take Him at His word? Will we believe that He means what He says and can do what He says He can do?

Tertullian, a first century lawyer and teacher, said that prayer washes away faults, repels temptation, extinguishes persecutions, consoles the faint-hearted, cheers the low-spirited, escorts travelers, nourishes the poor, governs the rich, raises up the fallen, arrests the falling and confirms the standing.

No matter our need, God is waiting to hear from us. Let’s begin now.

Prayer: Dear God, we have been away for a while. Now we are back. Hear our cry, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen
