Daylight Savings Time means that we move our clocks forward for the summer months, technically moving an hour from the morning to the evening.
Although accidents have happened because of misunderstandings over time zones, currently about 70 countries use Daylight Savings Time. China, India, and Japan still opt out as do part of Australia and even Iceland.
If you can’t remember when to move your timepiece where this little jingle might help.
Spring forward and fall back.
It is said that we save lots of electricity this way. The arguments continue, especially when we also know that heart attacks increase by 5% in the first week following the spring change over. Depression and suicide rise and of course none of us sleep in the same way for several days afterward.
Essentially we are following the sun instead of a clock. And so we follow the sun, but not necessarily the SON. Odd isn’t it?
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1John 5:20, NIV)
Prayer- No matter which way the earth follows Lord, draw us to the Son, Jesus, The Son of God. Amen.
