Ever Ready

A certain company advertises their product as ever ready. Can we say the same about ourselves? Do we memorize scripture so that in times of trouble the words sustain us?

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)

Have we decided ahead of time on the following topics so that we are braced for temptation?

 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. (Colossians 3:5)

Here is recipe for Ever ready Bran Muffins. When you make them, bake them, eat them, be reminded of how important it is to be ever ready to obey the Lord.

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

½ cup oil

2 tablespoons molasses  

2 cups sour milk

¾ cup water

2 ½ cups flour

2 ½ teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons salt

1 ½ cups natural bran flakes

1 ½ cups all bran cereal

1 cup raisins

Mix well. Refrigerate in covered container. Keeps for a month. To use: bake in greased muffin tins at 350F for 20 minutes.
