Did I just read that? Yep, the TV screen closed caption read “hot and human” while the announcer said “hot and humid”! Quite a difference, don’t you think?
But is that possible? Are humans ever hot? Well, it’s a scorching summer here, but I was thinking more like ‘hot under the collar.’
Do you ever get angry? God has a few thoughts on that. In fact, he brings up the topic 268 times in the Bible. Oh yes, he has a few things to say about getting angry. Here is the remedy:
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. It (love) does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (From Ephesians 4:26, James 1:20, Colossians 3:8, 1 Corinthians 13:5)
Prayer – Lord, help us in our anger to turn to you for help and recover. Thanks, with great relief. Amen
