I Am What I Am

Popeye attributed his great strength to the vast quantities of spinach he consumed. Spinach growers said he raised the consumption of spinach 33%.

Paul used these words long before Popeye.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. (1 Corinthians 15: 10a, NIV).

The Message Bible explains it this way.

But because God was so gracious, so very generous, here I am. And I’m not about to let his grace go to waste. (1 Corinthians 15: 10, MSG)

Where do we think our strength comes from? Does it lie in our spouse, our job, our money or our inheritance? No, none of these are our real strength.

The Lord is my strength and my defense, he has become my salvation. (Psalm 118:14, NIV)

Prayer- Thank you God, that you are our salvation. We will trust you and not be afraid. You are our strength, our defense and our salvation. Amen! (from Isaiah 12:2)
