Is This Now

I looked in several versions and they all say the same thing. There are times to get into your house and stay there.

Come, my people, go home and shut yourselves in. Go into seclusion for a while until the punishing wrath is past, (Isaiah 26:20-21, MSG)

Come, my people, enter your chambers and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the [Lord’s] wrath is past. (Isaiah 26:20, AMPC)

Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by. (Isaiah 26:20, NIV)

This is hard to hear and even harder to obey, but we have been doing it, haven’t we? Will we continue? …If necessary, of course we will because the person who dies might be someone from our very own family.

Prayer- Lord, give us the means and the grace to do what we need to do to protect those we care about, just as you do, Lord. In Christ. Amen.
