Jesus Bleach

Still have some of those leftover holiday dishes hanging around? Are you starting fresh with new recipes? Then you’ll want to know about food borne illnesses and how to avoid them. The scary thing is that we generally give it to ourselves! We think we have the flu, but it often is food poisoning.

Even Jesus mentioned how to avoid it. Technically, he was talking spiritual cleanliness but his advice also holds true food safety.

You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too. (Matthew 23:26, NLT)  Be clean!

Wash your hands before handling food, after changing baby, handling dirty laundry, dirty dishes and garbage, using the phone, the bathroom. Most of this stuff is common sense but I’m telling you again because how many of us are still coughing into our hands, not our elbows?

One teaspoon of bleach in three cups of water is strong enough to sanitize surface areas like your counter top, cutting board and fridge door handles.

God works the same way.

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. (Isaiah 1:18, NLT)

Prayer – Lord, thank you that our inner life can be as clean as our outside one. Amen
