Mickey Mantle and St. Paul

I’m not much for baseball, but that changed the day I found out that St. Paul had a better batting average than Mickey Mantle.

Mickey Mantle holds the record for strike outs at 1710. One of the greatest players ever, struck out 1710 times…but  Paul?

2 Corinthians 4:9 – We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed.

Wow! And why not?

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. (2 Corinthians 4:1, NIV)

Prayer – Lord, may we be like Paul, never losing heart or striking out, but hitting homeruns for Jesus! Amen
