Only God

Only God can build a Home
I’ve thought of things that man can build of massive walls and sunlit dome;
Of early natives’ tepee’s filled with warmth and love just like our own.
Of shanties built with hands unskilled. — But only God can build a home.

Our God began the human race and gave to man the power to roam.
But yet for man, He gave a place where he could rest and be alone.
Where he, life’s trials could bravely face where only God could build a home.

Though man may build his Taj Mahal, conquer oceans surf and foam,
Though man may harness Niagara’s Fall and till the earth’s productive loam.
Though man may build skyscrapers tall, only God can build a home.

Now man can always build a house of wood, of steel, of bricks and stone.
And man can place within that house such luxuries all would love to own.
And man can choose himself a spouse, but only God can build a home.

This man and wife that God has made, for His plan was not that we should be alone,
Should build upon foundations laid by God, who sin cannot condone
And His will in our lives obeyed for only God can build a home.

Let your home make a difference. Let God build your home.
(From the father of Gina Caswell Kelly, used with permission and honor)

Whether earthly home or heavenly the truth holds firm. Only God can build a home.

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:1, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, thank you for the promise of a home where you are. Amen.
