When my writing group sent out the monthly prayer list, it included a list of “E” people, that is, people whose last names all began with the letter “E.” They faithfully follow through with all the members. Next month we will be praying for “F.”
I decided to try this idea with my own prayers by praying for some of the Bible E’s. That meant asking that our evangelists be calm, cool and steady, accept and suffer unflinchingly every hardship, do their work and fully perform their duties. (2 Timothy 4:5, AMP)
Then, I asked God how to encourage my Christian friends today. (1 Thessalonians 5:11, AMP)
I prayed for those who perceive me to be an enemy. (Matthew 5: 43-44, AMP)
Finally, I prayed for the strength to endure what might come into my life. (2Timothy 2:3, AMP)
Soon I’ll be into the F’s, like faith, fear and forgiveness.
This challenging way to pray may not be for you. No matter. What does matter is that you pray.
Prayer – Father should our prayers and our praying falter, draw us back into communication with you. Amen
