Sports Fans Beware

Are you a sports team nut? Are you watching the finals of some season or other? Listen up! You need to hear this ‘pep’ talk

These people are bound to break your heart. They don’t care about you. This is bad for your mental health. They are bound to break your heart. Sooner or later, they will break your heart!

You need to give it up! That’s just how sports go.

Never mind, you can follow Jesus instead. Scream support on his behalf. Make donations of time, effort and money to his cause. He will never let you down; never.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)

Prayer – Father, give us the sense to follow you, not a baseball, football or tennis match. Amen
