Spring
Spring is here
Oh blessed thought
When sky is blue
And I am not.
The birds all chirp
Squirrels dance and mate
And I am putting
Less on plate.
Depression’s gone
Along with snow
And life is bright
As pounds go low.
Aren’t we glad to see the last of a fierce winter? The cold, frost, snow, ice and whatever else is finally gone for a time. So it is in our hearts when all seems lost and then… and then… God moves. It’s clear that he sees us and intends to make a difference for us. And he does… and all nature buds forth and we even feel better about our selves.
God spoke: “Lights! Come out! Shine in Heaven’s sky! Separate Day from Night. Mark seasons and days and years, Lights in Heaven’s sky to give light to Earth.” And there it was. (Genesis 1:14, MSG)
And just for fun… the translation of the well named “Beer-lahai-roi” in Genesis 16:14a is “God-Alive-Sees-Me Spring.”
Prayer – Oh God, we praise you for the seasons of change in nature and in us. Amen
