The famous Gospel singer, George Beverly Shea, sung live before more people than anyone in history. When asked what he would like people to remember about him, he said this. “I hope they remember that I stayed on pitch.” In music, pitch means to set a musical instrument to a particular key.
So what is pitch and key to us? What is our over all goal in life? Surely we want it to be Christ, for He is the key to all things.
And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open. (Isaiah 22:22, AMP)
If we start now and move in His direction, we won’t disappoint either ourselves or our God.
Prayer- Lord, may our pitch always be in tune with your Key, the Christ. Amen.
