Stirred

As a devotional writer, I consider it part of my job to stir you up.

And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities (Hebrews 10:24, AMP)

In fact, I lean heavily toward ‘admonishing, warning, urging, and encouraging.’ (Hebrews 10:25b, AMP).

That’s why I’m adding this note to my January 5th devotional, Sheepish Gossip.

Please don't forward an e-mail to all your friends just because it asks you to. Never forward chain letters even if they're true. Definitely do not forward them if they're false! Never open strange or suspect e-mails. Delete them!!

That truth also applies to our lives in general. Do not pass words along because you can. Never share thoughtless comments, especially if they are not true!!!!  Don’t open your mind or your mouth to strange or suspect thoughts.

Prayer: Lord, here we are, our mouths open, our tongues talking. May our words express the uprightness of our hearts, and our lips shall speak what they know with utter sincerity (from Job 33:2-3, AMP).
