Nothing calls for more patience and perseverance than Tax Day in the United States. Our days may differ from country to country but our response remains the same. UGH! We tend to forget that taxes are levied by governments on its citizens to run the place.
There are only a few tax-free people in the Bible but they had to earn that privilege by killing somebody and marrying the king’s daughter! (1 Samuel 17:25)
This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. (Romans 13: 6, NIV)
Sigh–alright then, all together now! Pens in hand…forms before us…
Prayer- Lord, figures and decimal points confound your people. Give us clarity of mind and action as we obey you by paying our taxes. Amen,
