I mentioned that our pastor asked us to think about what part of scripture annoys us. She asked us to be sure that we cleared ourselves with Christ on those matters.
This is the conversation I had later with my friend.
“Do you believe everything in the Bible?’ she asked? Then she added these dreadful words. “Because I don’t!”
Is this you? Are you taking the good parts of scripture that you like and tossing out the rest?
How many of us believe that Christ died for our sins but question the virgin birth or the feeding of the 5000? What little pet peeve do you have about Jesus? What is making a lie out of your confession of faith?
Just because some things don’t make sense to us, does not mean that God didn’t make them happen! We must get past our tiny minds into the immensity of the living God who can and does do incredibly things. After all; if we have the mind of Christ; shouldn’t we be using it?
“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
It’s not too late my friend. Ask God to enlighten your mind into wholesome. The all about God kind of thinking.
