Under Door Prayers

How do you visualize your prayers getting to God? Are they prayers you slide under the door in hopes that a captive God might answer? Or as though you are not worthy to enter his presence?

Do you picture them flight bound to the heavens as though with wings? Or do your prayers sit on your window sill, are they stuck in your throat, do you see God as so distant and you so unworthy?

The truth is :

The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. (Psalm 6:9, NIV)

You who answer prayer, to you all people will come. (Psalm 65:2, NIV)

But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. (Psalm 66:19, NIV)

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! (Psalm 66:20, NIV)

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea. (Psalm 102:17, NIV)

And the final line… If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer (Matthew 21:22, NIV)

The question then becomes…what is it that you do believe? Do you believe in the Christ who died for your sins, rose from the dead for you? Or are you clinging still to your sins, your old outdated beliefs and demanding answers to prayer when you haven’t done your part?

Prayer- Lord we understand your qualifications to hear our prayers and we choose to believe you are who you say you are and trust you for your answers from now on. For the Christ, Amen.
