Walking Ways

For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing. (Deuteronomy 2:7, AMP)

The Bible isn’t clear on the type of walking they were doing. Where they skipping with delight like little children? Where they whining and complaining with every step? Had they lost their spirit and spent their day trudging in the dusty footsteps of the one ahead and mournfully crying out for bed and buns?

Forty years is a long time to wait for your hopes and prayers to be answered. The people faced all kinds of problems, while God taught them that man does not live by bread alone but by the word of God. (Deuteronomy 8:1-4)

It might have been a few months if only they had learned that lesson sooner. Are we like the people of Israel, walking life without joy or expectation of a better future?

What kind of walking are we doing?

Prayer- Lord, please show us where we walk badly and help us to change; for Christ. Amen.
