July 3 What Should I Do (Part 2)
Yesterday we saw what the Lord told us to do and asked ourselves how we should go about it.
Here are some ways to get started. We must first make space for God so that he can speak to us.
1. Open your Bible.
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105, NLT)
2. Listen to wise counsel.
Plans succeed through good counsel, (Proverbs 20:18, NLT)
3. Be obedient.
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9, NLT)
4. Ask for wisdom.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (James 1:5, NLT)
5. Remember that God equips us for the task at hand.
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8, NLT)
6. Most of all, God will guard you as you go.
He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. (Proverbs 2:8, NLT)
Prayer- Lord, thank you for direction in our lives and for the truth that we can trust you with all our hearts, and stop depending on our own understanding. Help us seek your will in all we do as you show us what life paths to take. Amen.
(From Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT)
