“I did a push up today. Well, actually, I fell down. But I had to use my arms to get up so you know; close enough.”
Who are we kidding? That is a lie!
Yet equally ridiculous things are said every minute of every day and we take them at face value and believe them.
Many people believe that a person only ever uses 10 percent of their brain.
Is this true of you? Are you willing to believe outrageous claims that are at least fantasy or worse, outright lies?
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. (Proverbs 10:9 ESV)
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.( Proverbs 6:16-19, ESV)
But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:2, ESV)
Prayer- father, we hold to the promise, that you will help us know truth and the truth will set us free. (From John 8:32, ESV) Amen.
