Isaiah 61:10– I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath covered me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. (KJV)
Who thought that when we started this journey out of pain,
That God would come upon us so and make life new again?
We dared not even hope so high as what we’ve come to live
And it only took believing that He does freely give—
Joy and peace, freedom, love, all of them worthwhile.
Now, my friend, we’re living free and totally God-Style!
Thankful for distance traveled through Isaiah 61,
A privilege to share our lives, living out what God has done!
I wrote this poem after a dear friend and I discovered we had many of the same problems. After prayer, study and time, we were free of our past pain. Oh, the ever constant grace of God, available to each and every one of us!
Prayer: Lord, we rejoice today because you gave us freedom. You brought us into fellowship with yourself and were not content to leave us there. Praise your name! Amen.
