Don’t Shrink

My green tea towel has its good points. The colours never fade, it soaks up water nicely. However, every time I wash it, it shrinks in that wash and the next wash and the wash after that.

It could still dry dishes except for the fact that it is too small now to be of any use. That towel symbolizes our relationship with the Lord.

My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof. (Proverbs 3:11, AMP)

For every wrongdoer hates (loathes, detests) the Light, and will not come out into the Light but shrinks from it, lest his works (his deeds, his activities, his conduct) be exposed and reproved. (John 3:20, AMP)

And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming. (1 John 2:28, AMP)

Prayer – Lord, only your grace keeps us from shrinking…grace us Lord Jesus. Grace us. Amen
