Hello all!
I am Terry Morehouse, business administrator and music pastor of Faith Builders International Ministries in Beloit, Wis.
I have worked extensively with “American Idol” finalist Danny Gokey. I’m going to be spending some time with you throughout the next few weeks to talk about Danny.
I believe he is going to the end, so we’ll be together here at Everyday Christian for a while.
Danny led Praise and Worship at both Faith Builders locations in Beloit and Milwaukee for many years under the leadership of senior pastors Jeffrey and Robin Pruitt. I have had the pleasure of being with Danny on the music team here in Beloit for five years and usher people in the presence of the Lord with song and music.
Danny is an outstanding individual with a very pure heart. He loves God with all his heart! We will get into more of that in future blogs.
Tuesday night was another awesome performance for Danny on “American Idol” singing Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” I really thought he tore it up again!
Seeing him laugh with Randy Travis like he did was so typical of Danny! My wife and I laughed right with him because that’s just who he is. He absolutely loves to laugh! Who doesn’t?
I do think that his performance of “P.Y.T.” the week before was over the top, though. You need to get the studio version of that on iTunes. It’s amazing!
I think that many of the other contestants are incredible as well, so it’s going to be a tough competition from here on.

Thank you Terry for this blog too! Its refreshing to have someone who really knew Danny and not just all the news about people who dont know him.. I am excited for him. He is going on tour YES!!! That will be such an awesome experience for him:) I am just so glad he gets to go..He is such a great singer..He brings people up on their feet clapping along..I would love to see him lead worship WOW! What I love the most about Danny is that he is funny charming and is a strong Christian man who is not afraid to sing -Jesus take the Wheel in front of 30 or so million people:)and I cant wait to see what he sings next week! I thought I had caught wind of Danny being a Christian, but it is hard when the media keeps things os focused on certain things. As a fan of American Idol, I find it so refreshing that Danny is a Christian and would love to hear him sing a Christian song on the show. How amazing would it be if he broke out something even most people would still be familiar with, like a Michael W. Smith song?!
