A wonderful God moment left me with a slew of expensive (yet free to me) tickets for a terrific local event. When I offered some of the tickets to friends, they all had excuses. “Oh, I don’t think I would like that.” “Well, I’d have to ask my spouse.” “Is there a catch?”
They sounded very much like the folks in Matthew 22:1-5, NIV.
Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner…everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’ But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business.
Like my tickets and Jesus’ banquet parable, entry to heaven is free and requires only two things.
- You die.
- You must have a personal relationship with Jesus the Son of God.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive my sin and come into my life…Amen
