Know Your Strength

Did you know that a woman is like a tea kettle? No one knows her strength (not even her), until she’s up to her neck in boiling water.

When life is hard, remember that Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire’s famous movie star dancing partner, did everything Fred did, but she did it backward… and in high heels! Like Ginger, we might be dancing backward, not able to see where we are going. We might be hampered by shoes that drag us into painful life paths. But we can live and thrive through them.

We waste energy clinging to past pain, that is best forgiven and forgotten. We all know bitter folks who dwell on years-old grudges. Let them not be us!

A – Unforgiveness leads to depression.

B – This leads to grudges and hatred.

C – These feelings cause stress.

D – Which causes physical problems.

E – This leads to depression.

F – Anger is depression turned inwards.

G – Petty grudges and small attitudes contribute to a bitter spirit.

H – This leads to more stress.

NOTE: stressed spelled backward = dessert. And none of us need more chocolate!

(On a positive note, if you eat too much chocolate, your earrings will still fit.)

Q. The nicest thing about living to 104?   A. No peer pressure!

And Mary said, I’m bursting with God-news; I’m dancing the song of my Savior God. God took one good look at me, and look what happened! I’m the most fortunate woman on earth!

(Luke 1:46-47, MSG)
