Laugh Anyway

Many comedians suffer from depression. This article is one of many that explain why. How can it not be? The Bible says that laughter follows crying. (See Luke 6:21, Psalm 30:5b). Therefore the reverse, that crying follows laughter, must also be so.

The Bible also promises that God will fill our mouths with laughter. (Job 8:21) Yes. God does have a sense of humour. He made you, me and the butterfly tree.

How do you gage your funny? Can you take a joke? Are you hypersensitive to humour? That is a slippery slope to sadness.

Feeling low? Here are a few funnies to get you in the mood.

“I don’t want any male pallbearers,” joked country star Minnie Pearl. “If they won’t take me out when I’m alive, I sure don’t want them taking me out when I’m dead!”

Question : Why did the Israelites wander in the desert for forty years?

Answer : Even then, men did not like to stop and ask directions.

Yes the jokes are corny, but laugh anyway. Be kind. The Bible tells us not to take offense and I hope you haven’t.

Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. (James 1:19, AMP)

Prayer – Father, thank you that we can see things from the brighter side, the side you shine on. Amen
