Lent

We’ve passed into the season with Ash Wednesday on March 5 this year, Palm Sunday on April 13, followed by Good Friday on April 18, and Easter Sunday on April 20. It’s traditional to give up something for Lent.

What are you giving up for God this Lent season? Is it your chocolate fetish, your cell phone, or that anger you’ve been clinging to?

I call this type of lent-ing, or lending because we have every intention of taking that thing back. However when Jesus died on the cross, he did it once and for all, for you and for me.

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. (Romans 6: 9-10, NIV)

Prayer- Thank you God, for the perfect, once and for all example of Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. Amen.
