This is Remembrance Day, a reminder of the many who died in the first world war and now of course, also a reminder of those who have since died in other conflicts.
We are lining up for more. This country hates that one. That country despises someone else.
Nothing has really changed. People continue to make waves, fight petty little battles, involve more people, and eventually they become a global threat.
Where does it end?
Folks, it ends with you and me, as we make peace with our neighbours, both near and far.
It ends with us as we vote for people who are like minded.
Yes Jesus calmed the wind but he also will calm our hearts if we choose love and kindness and supportive understanding.
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:39, NIV)
Prayer- Oh Lord, help us be like that water as Christ calms us toward peace.
