You might think your shoe doesn’t fit when this happens but it is not the shoe. It is the tightness of the lace or Velcro.
It is an aggravation of the extensor hallucis longus tendon; that is the tendon that attaches the muscle running down your lower leg to your big toe.
Does it hurt? Oh my yes. To avoid it you can wear special socks or loosen your laces.
Basically the shoe doesn’t fit because you tightened it too much. Just like jobs we take on in life.
We’ve all had a dose of it at one time or another. We take on something that is too big or that we don’t have time for. We sign on for stuff we cannot handle. We take on more than our schedule allows.
Paul’s lace bite must have haunted him for a long time.
I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death. (Acts 22:3b-4, NIV)
However he learned from his mistake and he recognized it in others.
I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. (Romans 10:2, NIV)
Where is your shoe not fitting because of the lace bite you took on?
Prayer- Father God, forgive us for not listening to what you tell us to do. Amen.
