I hope after all these years, you understand this about me. I am determined to tell you the truthful Word of God no matter what. I will not waffle or dodge the truth because you see your soul depends on the truth.
Yet you might ask, how can we trust you, Brenda? Well you know my stance but that is not enough. You need to know that I speak the truth and the only way you can do that is to read the truth for yourself!
No matter what event or what preacher or political leader you see, you MUST judge their words and their actions by the Word of God. That is more crucial than ever as people make decisions based on a celebrity or politician and ignore or even refuse to base their truth on the Word of God.
But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?
But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to.(From Romans 10:14-17, MSG)
Prayer-Oh God, in these desperate times, draw your people back to your Word. Amen.
