“Let’s get to work, Lord”, I said aloud. “We have things to do today.”
But instantly, this thought came to my mind. “Brenda, we have things to be, today.”
The table lay awash in fabric. I intended my day to be one of ‘cut and sew’ for the little people in my life. Since it is one of my favorite things to do, I have no qualms about putting other jobs aside to create.
So instead of sewing, I gathered up my Bible, journal and pen. Then I moved to my favorite chair to read, write and meditate on God.
For the first time in several days, I took time to carefully, calmly, and seriously concentrate my mind on Him. I intentionally quieted my mind and rested it wholly on Him. Sometime later, I rose from my seat, refreshed, relaxed and renewed.
Psalm 46:10 – Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth (AMP).
But first, He must be exalted in His people.
Prayer: Lord, forgive us for thinking we can do so much, so much faster, without Your input into our lives. Amen.
