Wings are not what you think. A google search revealed, in this order, a TV show, a financial app, a good restaurant, and a rock band. Finally, I found this one. A modified forelimb in a bird that bears large feathers and is used for flying. No mention of angel wings! But here is an even better use of the word.
In Numbers 15:37-38, God tells Moses that the people are to wear tassels on the corners of their garments. The Hebrew word used repeatedly for corner is KANAF, literally meaning wing!
Scripture records only two events where folks touched the hem of Christ’s garment. AND when they did, they touched the wings of his garment!
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment. (Matthew 9:20, KJV)
And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. (Matthew 14:36, KJV)
