Actively Dying

Some people can’t stand living in an adult community because they think the ambulances show up a bit too often. They move out, hoping to find a robust community of young folks or they hide in an apartment, hoping to skip the world of death and suffering.

The truth is that we are all actively dying. Some of us try to slow down our time line, while others hasten their demise by their choices. No matter. The truth is that none of us will get out of this world alive.

Quite frankly, I find myself slightly jealous of those who have gone ahead to heaven. I know I’m going there eventually, but it might take some time. Meanwhile, my husband and lots of other friends and family enjoy their new life with Christ.

All we can do is prepare ourselves to be allowed into heaven when we get the call to go.

If the old message delivered by the angels was valid and nobody got away with anything, do you think we can risk neglecting this latest message, this magnificent salvation?  (From Hebrews 2:3, MSG)

Prayer – Dear God, I admit that I’m a sinner. Please forgive me… You promised (Romans 10:9) that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that you raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. With your help, Lord, I am taking this first step toward heaven. Amen
