My favorite blue casserole disappeared. Well actually I knew where it was but I couldn’t get my hands on it. My friend kept promising to return it but no such luck. Finally I just told God “I give up. I’ll stop yearning for the dish. If I never get the dish back, well that’s the way it is.”
And then my friend finally remembered to give it back to me.
There’s an old saying… if you love something set it free. If it comes back it is yours. If it doesn’t it never was.
What are we yearning for? It should be God, not casserole dishes.
But the truth is that they were yearning for and aspiring to a better and more desirable country, that is, a heavenly [one].
For that reason God is not ashamed to be called their God [even to be surnamed their God— for He has prepared a city for them. (From Hebrews 11:16, AMP)
Prayer – Lord, we get our priorities mixed up sometimes. Sorry. For Christ who never mixed up his…Amen
