The circumstances differ in the verses below but everyone, in every circumstance found reason to rejoice. Surely we can do the same!
For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete. (Deuteronomy 16:15b, NIV)

Prayer – Lord, give us the grace to recognize joy and be joyful, especially in this Christmas season. Amen
