Ecclesiastes 3:1: There is a right time for everything. (LB)
“So how are you any way? “gets only one response. “Busy. I am so busy.”
Funny isn’t it? Generations before us did hours of physical labor, without electrical power and modern time- saving devices and we are the ones with no time. We‘ve become busy bodies, whirling our way through life with little time to be really fruitful. Time management experts recommend the important over the urgent. You see, our “urgent” is really someone else’s “important.”
Acts 6:1-5a-: As the disciples were increasing in numbers by leaps and bounds, hard feelings developed among the Greek-speaking believers, —because their widows were being discriminated against in the daily food lines. So the Twelve called a meeting of the disciples. They said, “It wouldn’t’t be right for us to abandon our responsibilities for preaching and teaching the Word of God to help care for the poor. So friends, choose seven men from among you whom every one trusts, men full of the Holy Spirit and good sense, and we’ll assign them this task. Meanwhile we will stick to our assigned tasks of prayer and speaking God’s Word.(MSG)
Prayer: Lord, we admit that we are mostly busybodies. Help us prune our ‘To Do Lists’so that Your fruit results. Amen
