Just to be sure I had the meaning right, I looked it up in the dictionary. Yep, there it was in black and white. To cheat is to break the rules, whether it is in a game, an examination or anything else, for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage. From the time we played hide-and-seek as children, we all knew that.
Somehow the rules we learned in childhood have faded from the minds of several big name athletes, more than a few spouses, some students writing exams and most of us on a diet.
What happened?
Society may be more forgiving but God’s holy standards remain the same.
Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3-4, AMP)
Prayer: Lord, You have the right to look at us with disdain and shame. Forgive us, Lord but more than that, help us change. Amen.
