Christmas Table

Many years ago today, I spent Christmas Day in the hospital with a baby who came to be known as Judith. The days ahead were an unknown then but now, looking back, I can announce with great joy that she has always gladdened our hearts.

For years, she and her brother complained that they had Christmas wrapping paper on their presents and Christmas decorated cakes for their birthdays. (See December 10 devotional) Nothing much has changed.

Life continues much the same. In our family, the center piece is a birthday cake with the words, “Happy Birthday Jesus” boldly written across the top. Sometimes we even sing the song! Let’s share Jesus where we can.

Finally they said to one another, “We shouldn’t be doing this! This is a day of good news and we’re making it into a private party! (2 Kings 7:9, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, help us use every tool available to us, to tell others about Jesus. Amen.
