Cluttered Minds

Romans 12:1- So here is what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life- your sleeping, eating, going-to-work and walking-around-life- and place it before God as an offering (MSG).

I wouldn’t say that my house was in C.H.A.O.S, (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome!), but I did have some trouble spots that needed work.

My goal was organization and less clutter. A free web site now sends me daily messages like ‘Clean your purse’ and ‘Time to chase the cobwebs.’

Some of the site users couldn’t get their Christmas trees down before July. Others had beds piled so high with stuff that they just slept on the couch. A few decluttered and found ‘lost’ money, precious family mementos and jewellery.

Often our minds are as cluttered as our homes. We get hung up on the stuff of life and forget God. We try to pray but the words won’t come. Our busyness gets in the way. Why not ask God for help!

Prayer: Oh, God, help us to willingly declutter our minds. Remind us to focus on you! Take our busyness. As we declutter the rooms of our minds, fill them with yourself. In Christ’s name. Amen.
