Have you helped a child connect the dots on the pages of their little craft or puzzle books? Do you ever start at number 46 and draw the lines backward? Of course, you don’t. You teach your little ones to start at number one and then go to number 2 and so on.
Steve Jobs had a different thought. Follow his reasoning here.
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” – Steve Jobs
That is what our lives are like. We suffer through things and only later do we see their benefit and how God worked them to our overall advantage. That’s why we must deal with suffering in a Christ-like manner.
What then [does it matter]? So long as in every way, whether in pretense [for self-promotion] or in all honesty [to spread the truth], Christ is being preached; and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice [later as well]. (Philippians 1:18, AMP)
Prayer- Lord, give us the grace to see our pain through your eyes, even if you never tell us why when we ask it. Amen.
