The patient writer adds this note to stir the hearts of men;
The folks to whom he writes his thoughts need much review again.
Some know, some slide, some struggle on. The writer bids them pause
And think of all that Christ is now. He’s bigger than their laws.
He’s God, Creator, King and Priest, of angels, prophets galore.
He’s suffered. He’s crowned. He’s risen again. He’s everything to adore.
“Fix your eyes on this Saviour,” Cries the author just once more.
He’s the Apostle, the sent one, Jesus. It’s you that he died for,
Our representative, our envoy, our sympathetic High Priest
Confess all the right things. Don’t slide back in the least.
Forget all about your trouble. Forget all about your pain.
Seriously, consider this Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him again.
So then, … [thoughtfully and attentively] consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest Whom we confessed [as ours when we embraced the Christian faith]. (From Hebrews 3:1, AMP)
Prayer – Oh Father, what a privilege you give us. Amen
