About 12 years ago, a musician, by the name of Ed Bolduc, wrote a beautiful song, If Today, based on Psalm 95. In it he states, “If today, if today, you hear the voice of God. Harden not your heart. Harden not your heart.”
There are many times in our lives when our plans are not God's plans and what we want is not what God wants for us. Yet when He reveals himself to us, we as humans tend to cry out like little children, “No, I don't want to do that! You can't make me!” No, God could. God can do anything, but He chooses to allow free will. It is ultimately a choice to follow the will of God.
Psalm 37:4 (NIV) says, “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” He knows what you desire. However there are times when what we desire may not be in our best interest. But if we are in the Word daily, if we are open to the message He might reveal through the scriptures. We have nothing to fear when we hear the voice of God. He loves us and desires only the best for us.That's why He sent His son, Jesus. He gave us His best. Sometimes, it's not easy to hear what God is saying to us. But, today, if you hear His voice, open up your heart. Be blessed no matter what the answer may be.
