Dining Etiquette

“One must not so replenish the stomach so that the brain refuses to function.” – Hercule Poirot.

Good advice but what happens when we eat too much, as we are prone to do during this food filled season? (You might not like all of the hints!)

Eat less. Fast for a day or two. Avoid rich, greasy, fatty foods. Eat crackers or bananas. Peppermint, ginger, green or chamomile tea or plain water may help.

Doesn’t sound like much fun in the midst of Christmas goodies and chocolate bonbons, but sometimes we have to make choices that are good for us, instead of ones that make us happy.

Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good. (Job 34:4, NIV)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9, NIV)

Prayer – God, give us the common sense to make the right choices for our bodies. Amen
