The little one wanted to play in the water puddle even though he had no boots on. Fine.
He sat down in the puddle and thus mudded up his denim shorts. Okay.
He splashed me while he flailed his shovel and dug mud piles. Sure.
But when he used his shovel as a cup and tried to drink that slimy water, I hauled him, screaming and kicking, into the house and the bath tub. Clean water awaited, but he yearned for dirty.
When we puddle drink, God has to stop us for our own good. Cooperation is a great idea. We like to quote Psalm 91:1a but often forget to add Psalm 91:1b.
For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
Prayer- Lord, drag us out of our muddy puddles and make us clean. In Christ. Amen.
