Discouraged

Has this ever happened to you? It describes my past days quite clearly.

But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are dismayed. (Job 4:5, MSG)

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive,’ or ‘Help me.’ (Billy Graham)

If one of today’s great saints occasionally falters, what hope is there for us? Some days it feels like there is no hope at all, but our answer is the same answer as Billy Grahams.  We go to God with tears in our eyes and say “O God forgive me, God help me.”

Why; because these are our truths.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9, NIV)

See, the Lord your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”(Deuteronomy 1:21, NIV)

We are never alone or forsaken. When we feel like that, it is a lie of Satan. Don’t believe it.

For He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax my hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Prayer- Lord, Thank you for all the promises you make to us and even more for all the promises you keep. Amen.
