Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. (Matthew 14:22, NIV)
Had the crowd drained his energy? Did his nearest and dearest frustrate him, try His patience? Maybe. But after prayer time with His Father, Jesus was ready for the impossible.
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. (Matthew 14:25-26)
Note these two things. Jesus walked on water and His nearest and dearest did not recognize Him.
Then make a note of this. Like Jesus, when we spend time with the Father, we will have courage and strength beyond our own abilities. We will be able to do things we never did before. We will look different because we have been in the presence of God. Count on it
Prayer-Lord thank you for strength beyond ourselves. Amen
