I shared the salvation message recently with a friend who replied this way. I’m only twenty. I’ve got lots of time. Meanwhile I’m planning on enjoying my life. That stuff is for old people.
On the same day, a young man I’ve known for many years, died suddenly from a heart attack. There was no warning, no time for a medical team, no preparation for the family.
Friends we can’t count on our time here on earth to long and uncomplicated.
Mortals have a limited life span. You’ve already decided how long we’ll live— you set the boundary and no one can cross it. (Job 14:5, from MSG)
A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed. (Job 14:5 from the NIV)
Look around you friends. We don’t know how long we will live. Today is the day of salvation.
For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Pray salvation now, while there is time.
Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask that you forgive me. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and that you rose to life again. Please come into my life as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for your gift of the Holy Spirit and for the gift of eternal life. In Jesus name, amen.
