Easy Does It

Life is not about hanging on through the end of the storm, but it is about learning to be joyful no matter what.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4)

Persistence in doing something no matter how hard it is. It may also be called tenacity, determination, staying power, dedication and resolution.

Dare I ask you how you are making out with those January 1 resolutions? January 17 is considered the end of most of our big plans. That’s the common end of our self- promises and big ideas.

Why did we fail?

1. We gave up.

2. We slipped once and called it the end.

3. All our friends retired so why try to keep on alone?

Consider that there are 348 days left in 2023. Are you giving up all of them as a lost cause?

Note Exodus 23:29-30.

I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.  But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you.  Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

The Israelites kept trying and God kept providing, little by little. Start up again, friends. Battle thorough to success.
