Enhanced Flavor

John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life (KJV).

John 3:16For God so greatly loves and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life (AMP).

I call them toe-may-toes. My Granny called them tum-a-tus. Either way they are still a wonderful, red, juicy accompaniment for salads and sandwiches. It is doubtful that folks will stop eating them because they don’t like the pronunciation. They are what they are and that’s it.

Except in my granny’s hands. She believed that a little monosodium glutamate (MSG) enhanced any flavor.

So it is with the Word of God. Sometimes we pronounce it King James. Once in a while we call it Living Bible. Occasionally we name it Amplified, Message, New International, Good News, or Revised Standard. All are wonderful additions to our lives.

We would do well to squabble less about which version to use and do more reading and studying in the one we have. And why not add a little spice and enhance the flavor by trying a different version? Perhaps you could try a little MSG (The Message), some AMP (Amplified) or even some good old reliable KJV (King James Version).

Prayer: Lord, add flavor, spice us with some MSG, AMP or KJV today! Amen.

The inspired version should clear up a lot of misunderstood passages of the scriptures. http://centerplace.org/hs/
